A teacher gave her class a project in which they were to write about who their hero is. One 11-year-old girl declared that her hero is President Donald Trump. The teacher said that she couldn’t write about Trump, and then told her she should write about Barack Obama. As Yoda would say, “The insanity is strong in this one.” That would be like the teacher asking a student what her favorite color was and when she said blue, the teacher marks it as incorrect because her real favorite color is magenta.
Bella Moscato, age 11, of Ronkokoma, New York said:
“Donald Trump is my hero. She said I wasn’t allowed to do Donald Trump because he spreads negativity and says bad things about women.” The thing I didn’t get, she was OK with someone doing Barack Obama, but not OK with Donald Trump? That’s what got me angry.”
“Bella’s mother, Valerie Moscato, says she was outraged when her daughter called her from school about the incident. She says what the teacher did amounts to intimidation and censorship,” News 12 reported.
“This was really frustrating to me because, you know, my daughter has every right to pick a hero of her choice. It’s [her] First Amendment right, freedom of speech, freedom of expression. So it was really upsetting to me that she was trying to shut her down,” she said, according to the Epoch Times.
In a document about the class assignment obtained by News 12 Long Island, Bella explained why she chose Trump as her hero when answering the question of “What positive contribution has this person made to society?”
“Donald Trump has helped millions of people by creating a great economy. He is fighting every day to protect the people from drugs crossing the border,” she wrote.
Bella’s father also criticized the teacher. “My daughter’s hero is the president of our country,” he said. “I can’t believe that anybody in the school would tell my daughter that that guy can’t be her hero.”
My book is here! And I personally handed a copy to our President at the White House!!! I hope you enjoy it
