Laguna Beach Police Cars Will Keep American Flag Emblem Despite Some Who Say It Would Be Offensive To Immigrants

The Laguna Beach Police Department of the coastal California town has received some complaints about the new patriotic red, white and blue American flag logo used on the side of their police cruisers, claiming the logo is “too aggressive” or “militaristic,” and the department has responded with a message of “tough cookies, the emblem is here to stay.”

Over the past few weeks, some residents of Laguna Beach raised concerns with the police and city council, complaining that the new look of the squad cars might be offensive to immigrants and tourists.

What kind of reprobate loser would think that the American flag on the side of an American police vehicle would be too aggressive?

Despite the negative reactions, the City Council voted on Tuesday to keep the design for its 11 Ford Explorers that have stars and stripes running through the word “Police” on their doors.

Laguna Beach Mayor Steve Dicterow said the council was looking at a “very narrow decision” heading into the vote, acknowledging that the debate about the new design had grown into a national discussion about patriotism.

Petty Councilwoman Toni Iseman was the lone dissenter, suggesting the “I” in “Police” should be changed from red to blue.  She sounds like a real idiot savant… minus the savant part.

“Some of the words people used was that they felt it was threatening, intimidating, harassing and a symbol of racism,” Dicterow revealed to the LA Times.  “I think it’s reasonable that we’re going to look at it again so that whatever we [approve] is exactly what we put on the car.”

Carrie Woodburn, a local artist, said she was stunned by the “boldness of the design,”  and thinks it looks out of place for the tourist beach town of 23,000.

For goodness’ sake, it’s just the word Police with the stars and stripes of the American flag on the letters.  Would they prefer the Soviet hammer and sickle?

“We have such an amazing community of artists here, and I thought the aesthetic didn’t really represent our community,” Woodburn continued.

How does the American flag not represent the community?  Who the hell are these haters?

Thankfully, there are some in the town who feel positive about the change.  People like attorney Jennifer Zeiter, who said she thinks the design is “exceptional,” believing the objections may be connected to the liberal pathogen Trump Derangement Syndrome.

“They are so filled with hatred toward this … office of the president of the United States and the current occupant of that office, that they cannot see through their current biases to realize that a police vehicle with the American flag is the ultimate American expression,” she said.

Some of the cops driving the vehicles said they’ve received zero complaints, but many compliments, as they cruise around town during a shift.

“Every time I came to a stop sign, every time I came to a red light, somebody is telling me the car looks great,” said Laguna Beach Police Cpl. Ryan Hotchkiss.  “Every one of our members that drives the car loves it, and we look forward to keeping them the way they are.”

I guess it all depends on how you see America.  If you don’t like America, you’ll see the emblem as an affront to your belief system and go looking for a safe space, while if you are a patriot, you’ll view the vehicles with a sense of pride.

My book is here!  And I handed a copy to our President at the White House!!! I hope you enjoy it !
