Last year Chief Justice John Roberts, the Left’s Obamacare savior, arrogantly admonished President Trump by making the ludicrous claim that we “do not have Obama or Trump judges.”
It was an astonishingly ignorant remark to make as a Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court because anyone who takes even a cursory glance at our judicial system knows that there are judges who adhere to the Constitution and many who do not. We’re always told that a president’s lasting legacy is embodied in the judges he appoints to the bench, and that’s because a president selects judges based on their judicial philosophy matching closest to that of the president’s. To say otherwise shows you do not live in reality.
Judge Carlton Reeves must not have heard that message. This Obama-appointed judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi is the epitome of a partisan judge who blatantly ignores the law and the will of the American voter by countermanding the policies of representatives elected by the voters.
The way it’s supposed to work is a law comes before a court, and the judge has to determine if said law falls in line with the principles set forth in the Constitution. Even if they don’t personally like the law, their job is to determine if the law holds up to the standards of the Constitution. That’s not what we get in too many instances. Many activist judges ignore the standards of the Constitution and rule solely based on their ideological belief system, and they’ve been getting away with it for decades.
Reeves recently stepped up his leftist activism and attacked President Trump by comparing him to white supremacist Democrats and the Klan. This was his contribution to helping the “Resistance ” to label Trump as a racist to bring back black voters for 2020 who left the Democrat party via Blexit or the #WalkAway movement.
Last week Reeves was awarded the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Law at the University of Virginia, and in his acceptance speech, he attacked President Trump. A symptom of a significant problem in our judicial system is the very fact that a biased and politically activist judge like Reeves could be awarded such an honor, but these are the times in which we live.
Reeves attacked Trump for having the audacity to say out loud what millions of Americans already know; that leftist partisan hacks on the bench like Reeves have actively worked hard to destroy our system of justice and the integrity the system had before political appointments were made to men like Reeves himself.
From The American Spectator:
Evidently in an attempt to shield himself and his fellow travelers from further Trump criticism, Judge Reeves delivered himself of this Orwellian diatribe:
When politicians attack courts as “dangerous,” “political,” and guilty of “egregious overreach,” you can hear the Klan’s lawyers, assailing officers of the court across the South.… And when the Executive Branch calls our courts and their work “stupid,” “horrible,” “ridiculous,” “incompetent,” “a laughingstock,” and a “complete and total disgrace,” you can hear the slurs and threats of executives like George Wallace, echoing into the present.
Reeves is a disgrace and has no place sitting on a federal bench. He is the epitome of what Trump was complaining about with respect to too many judges ruling based not on the rule of law but on their own political ideology. During his invective against the president, like all leftists today who like to throw the race card, he conveniently left out the fact that the Klan lawyers he spoke of were like him and the man who appointed him to the bench, Democrats. He mentioned George Wallace to trigger the dread and uneasiness of racism in politics but failed to point out that Wallace was also a Democrat. Reeves said in Trump’s words he hears the echoes of the Southern Manifesto, but neglected to point out that it was written by Democrats.
Another big problem with leftists who want to use the race card is they forget how Democrats treated Clarence Thomas, a man who has proven to be one of the greatest legal minds to sit on the Supreme Court. More recently we saw a freak show circus made out of Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings by Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee because they did not want another Constitutional judge appointed by Trump to the Supreme Court.
I submit that the only reason we had to keep creating civil rights laws was because the Democrat Party kept making laws that were discriminatory to minorities, but if people like Reeves have their way, Republicans would get the blame for all of it.
Democrats love to claim Nixon’s Southern Strategy was designed to bring racist Democrats over to the Republican Party, when in reality it was simply Nixon asking southern white voters why they kept voting for racist Democrats who continue to pass racist laws.
This judge has apparently given up the charade of appearing non-partisan. His argument is that no one, especially this president, can ridicule members of the bench, when the very man who appointed him spent time during his State of the Union address admonishing members of the Supreme Court as they sat right before him. So, judges can be criticized, but not leftists on the bench. How convenient.
Anyone who doesn’t have their head buried up where the sun doesn’t shine can see that President Trump is working hard to return our courts to the proper function of interpreting laws to see if they hold up to the standards set in our Constitution, rather than ruling based on political ideology and pop culture, in the manner that Reeves’ record shows. This is a great thing to those who revere our Constitution and the rule of law, but a nightmare for progressives who wish to be governed by activist judges who agree with them.
In a nutshell, Judge Reeves is one of those leftist judges that progressives go “judge shopping” for when they want a guaranteed outcome of a case dear to the ideology. President Trump makes a lawful policy that the Left doesn’t like, and they go judge-shopping to file a lawsuit in order to get the judiciary to block the president’s lawful actions. Why have a Congress and Executive branch if judges are legislating from the bench?
If I were a lawyer in Mississippi, and I drew this judge for a case, I would use this speech to get a new judge assigned to the case as he has shown he is not impartial, and justice is the last thing you will get from his court.
President Trump and the Senate are trying to restore public faith in our judicial system, as all is lost with judges like Reeves sitting on the bench with lifetime appointments. Reeves and other partisan left-wing hacks know this, and it frightens them to know that the days of judges being used as tools of the Left are coming to a close.
My book is here! And I personally handed a copy to our President at the White House!!! I hope you enjoy it
