One of our hot-button topics on this page is our coverage of the issues of abortion and infanticide. We have reported progress on the good, in particular, the various states such as Ohio who have passed what are often called “heartbeat” bills, a term that refers to the prohibition of an abortion if a heartbeat is detectable.
In other instances, we spoke out strongly against the states such as New York, who passed laws approving abortion all the way up to the point of delivery, and then if the child doesn’t die after it’s delivered, allowing the baby to die unattended without appropriate medical care focused on preserving his or her life. (I refuse to de-humanize a baby by calling a living child an “it”!! They are one of two sexes – male, or female – nothing less.)
As has become the norm, it is the Democrat party who is at the forefront of these heinous criminally-negligent decisions. Democrats once again have refused to allow a vote on the Born Alive Survivors Protection Act. A portion of a much larger report of their latest denial may be seen below.
Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats continue to refuse a request to allow a vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, legislation that would stop infanticide and provide medical care and treatment for babies who survive abortions.
House Democrats refused a vote on the bill for the 69th time — reading the same statement they have read the previous 68 occasions that claims there is no bipartisan agreement to bring the bill up for a vote. Despite the claim, Republican leaders have repeatedly asked Pelosi and top Democrats to reach an agreement for the bill to receive a vote.
This is the 70th time in total that Congressional Democrats thwarted an attempt by Republicans to vote on a bill that would provide medical care and treatment for babies who provide survived failed abortions — 69 times in the House and twice in the Senate.
Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) offered a unanimous consent request to allow a vote on the anti-infanticide bill but Democrats ruled it out of order. As they have done numerous times, after Democrats denied the request to vote on the bill, they cut off his microphone so he could not object to their denying a vote.
Afterwards, Congressman Hice tweeted about the denial, “It’s unconscionable that anyone would deny medical care to vulnerable newborns, yet@HouseDemocrats have blocked a vote on the #BornAliveAct…69 TIMES. To them, embracing late-term abortions & infanticide is more important than protecting God’s greatest gift, life. #LetsUsVote.”
The denial comes just weeks after Democrats voted to fund infanticide. LHHS Ranking Member Tom Cole (R-OK) offered an amendment to withhold funds to any medical entity that does not ensure that any infant born alive following an abortion receives the same medical care as any other infant born at the same gestational age. Every Republican voted for the pro-life amendment to stop infanticide while every Democrat on the committee, except Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar, voted for infanticide.
So not only do we have a Democrat party who is actively campaigning to leave our borders completely wide open for the ingress of hundreds of thousands of illegals who do absolutely nothing positive for the safety, security, and economic stability of the country, but they are actively supporting the death of our most vulnerable demographic, the newborn citizens who have their entire life in front of them.
